Don't you like it?!?

For Christmas, Darby got me 2 beautiful pillows for our bed, as I have been wanting some decorative pillows to go with the set we have. Unfortunately, they did not match with the same red, so I went back to Cost Plus (though in Texas they refer to it as just "World Market") to browse. At first, no luck finding pillows I liked. I just figured that I would return these and look elsewhere. I thought I would just walk around the store first, and then came to the clearance section. I saw a big 50% off clearance sale, and guess what?!? The first thing I saw was a bedroom set with the same exact colors of our comforter!! They had pillows that were perfect for 50% off! I exchanged the 2 from Darby for 4 of these new ones, and got $10 back! These cheaper ones were so much more perfect than anything I would have imagined! The simple things that bring a girl happiness....

Happy New Year!

I am very happy to report that I am now a better wife to my husband! His favorite pie has always been his Mom's pecan pie that she makes for Christmas and Thanksgiving. When I was out visiting family for Christmas, Darby's Mom taught me how to make her very special pecan pie. We had meant to bring a few slices home with us, but forgot them in my Mom's car. So, I decided to try to make one all by myself. It came out very good! And it was so easy (I changed her recipe to make it easier by using a Pillsbury crust!). Then last night I made another one, and it took me about 5 minutes to prepare before sticking it in the oven!

As you can see, I was overjoyed!
